Building Projects

The Guild completed a recording studio in the first floor (previous lecture/recording room).  It consists of a vocal booth, instrumental booth and mixing section.  The room has sound proofing, digital drum set, 8 track synthesizer, boom microphone, 8 instrument Boss digital recording mixer (with CD writing capabilities), 2 track portable Boss digital recording mixer, 16Gig 4TB hard drive computer with 2 monitors for mixing and editing purposes, Sequencing software: Pro Tools 9, Finale 2011, Sibelius 6, Sonar 7, Garritan sound patches etc. etc.

The Guild are in the processes of adding a second level to the established Kooyong campus to enable students with additional resources.  The plans include a new  stage on the first floor located where the existing garage is, on the second level it will have a larger recording studio, computer room, additional lecture room, 2 practice rooms and additional toilets.  The second level will also have a lift for students with disabilities to gain access to the resources and lecture rooms.  See images below of building plans.

   
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

FEE HELP: For the Bachelor of Music

The Guild applied to the Australian government to provide assistance to higher education students through the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) in 2005 and were successful in the application to offer the loan scheme FEE-HELP in 2006.  FEE-HELP is a loan scheme available to eligible fee paying students to pay all or part of their tuition fees.

VET FEE-HELP: For the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Music Courses

The Guild applied to the Australian government to provide assistance to TAFE level course students through the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) in 2009 and were successful in the application to offer the loan scheme VET FEE-HELP in 2010.  VET FEE-HELP assists eligible students undertaking certain Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses of study (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma courses) with an approved VET provider, to pay for all or part of their tuition costs.

Student Services

E-learning: Moodle has been incorporated to the new delivery system of the VET and Higher education courses.  This consists of forums, chat sessions, video lecture material, textbooks, assignment guides, assignment upload links, surveys, essay help, study schedules etc.

 

Counseling is also available to students either with the CEO or the lecturer that the student feels most comfortable with.

 

Additional private tutorials are available and are either suggested to students if needed or can be requested by the student.
