I had to decide whether the first chorus should build in energy compared to the verse but ultimately decided to pull it right back which is different to most popular songs. I also had a version of this song where I finger picked the guitar to give it a smoother melodic feel, but ultimately went with a rhythmic muted strings feel to better match the build up pre-chorus. Finally, I decided to keep the intro and outro super simple so that the song centres around the lyric more so than the guitar.
