I am a year 12 student currently studying classical cello and jazz improv singing at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. I have a great passion for composing and this piece was inspired by my love of Spanish and Latin influenced music, and written for my cello quartet 'Cellolujah'.
My intention was to create a rhythmically driven, tango inspired cello quartet that contrasts syncopated and dance-like melodies with legato and sultry melodies. My composition explores the range of different extended and idiomatic techniques on the cello that lend themselves to a latin/spanish style
