The Beauty Of Such Chaos
My name is Huxley, Im 14 years old and I go to Fitzroy High.
Im a Percussionist primarily but I also produce a wide range of music. In most of the pieces I produce I compose and create all the percussion parts in my home studio and I play all the non-percussion parts with a midi keyboard but I have received no formal teaching in this area.
Music has been a major part of my life for many years but over the last 2-3 years it has become more than a hobby. Ive never properly released any of my music other than playing live performances.
For this piece I attempted to make something that is eerie and creepy yet has a sense of discovery and an idea of hope. Much like some of my other pieces I spent more time on the percussive aspects than the melodic and cinematic aspects.
This piece was a bit of an experiment for me as I was trying out new ideas and techniques that I had never thought to add in. These include effects put onto audio files and using primarily cymbals to create a percussive melody. Even through this experiment I maintained my mindset of doing things in a single take once an idea arises so to keep the creativity alive.
