The Shadow Line
Hello,
My name is Marlo. Piano is my passion. I have been playing for around 5 years, inspired by the likes of Nils Fram, particularly after seeing him play live, and Chilli Gonzales. I am learning Jazz piano and love to improvise. I am currently in year 10, based in regional Victoria and try to get to live music in Melbourne when I can. In addition to music, I love being outdoors and immersed in nature, which inspires much of the music that I write.
I am interested in using simple techniques and executing these as best I can.
There are influences of jazz in this work. I like playing with the shift of dynamics and repetitive rhythms, before sometimes segueing and sometimes a quick transition to diversify.
If an image was to accompany this piece, I see time-lapse edits of different shadows, growing and receding across different parts of the day. The name represents the light and dark of the piece. I have been working on this for about 5 weeks.
